Red and Black Week Continues
Red and Black week continues over at Sophistique Noir.
I’d like to dedicate this video and song to Ms. Victorian Kitty.
A surprising amount of good music fits with this theme.
For instance, the relatively new Love and Rockets tribute album (and actually almost any album by Love and Rockets).
Siouxsie and the Banshees’ Red Light
The Knife’s We Share Our Mother’s Health
Nick Cave’s Red Right Hand
The White Stripes’ The Denial Twist (this video, by the way, was directed by Michel Goundry — the director of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind)

I looooooooooooove the red right hand song ! discover it on the soundtrach of “Scream” and just seen few years ago that it was the great Nick Cave who was singing it !
So good!
Those are great videos. I hadn’t really ever thought about the Love and Rockets cover art before. I guess Jack White was a fan. Also, that Michael Gondry directed White Stripes video is really great. This post makes me miss the old MTV (sort of). They didn’t play many videos I liked, but I rarely watch music videos anymore. Music videos are pretty amazing, when they combine great visuals and music. Cool post.
Thanks Pedro!
Lovely music! And you added the swedish group the Knife 🙂
I ❤ Karin Dreijer Andersson. She totally gets that motherhood is so goth.
I love that song from The Knife! Wow! Straight to the iPod! Thanks for sharing – I had never heard of them before.
If you like The Knife, check out Fever Ray.
Aw, thanks! 😉 I love your concept for this post. Love and Rockets FTW!!
Yay! Your theme week has been a lot of fun.
I had to come back to this post to show Mr. Kitty that first video. We can’t get enough of it. It makes me giggle uncontrollably. 🙂
Hahaha! I’ve sensed your presence!
:-O so this song was made for ms kitty!?
