“My Summer As A Goth”

Maybe it is a sign of a mid-life crisis, but this film speaks to me on so many levels.  Today, I have been wondering…  what happens to Joey?  Does she stay Goth? Does she eventually head off to law school?  I must know.

Admittedly, the film could be an unmitigated disaster.  The good news is that Jillian Venters is the goth-lifestyle consultant for the film. So, you know it has to be good or at least legit. So far, I like the makeover and look of the main character.

Before the film can be made though, the producers need to raise some funds on Kickstarter.   Pledge as little or as much as you want (If you pledge $2,500 or more, your name will be featured on a tombstone in the movie).  You can also keep up with the production on the My Summer As a Goth blog.

  1. I like this movie as a concept. Everyone seems well intentioned, but I don’t think this is going to be great. I am worried that they don’t have any ideas for the story after the makeover. Unlike, say Juno, which was about having the preggo teen do the opposite of your expectation for 90 minutes.

But, I will give ’em ten bucks just to see how it turns out.

  2. I have to say, getting featured on a tombstone in a film is probably the coolest incentive I have ever seen. Too bad I don’t have $2,500 dollars.

  3. Overall, I’m intrigued by it all. The movie could be mess, but the fact that Jillian Venters is involved as a consultant does give it atleast some credibility in my eyes though. I can’t give much, but I’d give some to help them along their way.
