It’s been a trying ten days here.  Six days without power, flooded basement, and worst of all — no or limited internet.  There was a point where I borrowed a generator, and tethered my phone to my computer to get on the internet.  But then my phone melted.

The generator and improvised internet solution had me worried that I was turning Steampunk.

I can't really get with the Steampunk thing. I want to like it, but I cannot deal with the color brown.

Oh, and my camera is broken.  I had no choice but to use my cell phone for this one.

But things are looking up.  I received a free sample of Woolite Dark and a tiny coupon for ridiculously expensive Wolford dreseses.

  1. Sorry to hear of your travails, Siouxsie. At least you aren’t dealing with Texas-Gulf-Coast heat while you are without power. Some of our neighbors were without power for 2 weeks after Hurrican Ike!

  2. Eek. That sounds awful. We were out for exactly seven days, but at no point did I contemplate wearing brown. I hope everything gets better soon–melted phone and broken camera are particularly frustrating.

  3. If you don’t like steampunk, maybe consider steamgoth instead.

  4. Ha! Same reason I dislike steampunk. Will never like brown. Ever.
Hope your home situation improves quickly! xx

  5. hehe maybe we should start a campaign to make brown illegal (outside of nature, I do like to hug trees occasionally) Steamgoth sounds like a good compromise, to be honest I have problems with the high number of bushy beards on steampunky men (sorry) too… but love the melodrama.
