UPDATE: Driver Sues Walmart Because He Drove His Truck Into Light Pole in Parking Lot

A man who drove his 1997 Chevy S-10  into a light pole in the parking lot of a Walmart sued for damages, claiming the placement of the pole is conducive to car crashes.

Previously, Siouxsie blogged about this case: HERE.

This week, as reported at Seacoast Online, the district court found that Walmart is not responsible for the man driving into a light pole.  The judge pointed out that “[t]he pole [was] painted bright yellow and is topped by a stop sign and marks the edge of a pedestrian crossing area.”

So don’t drive your car into one of these bright yellow poles.  If you do happen to hit a giant, bright yellow pole in a parking lot, don’t sue.

  1. Damn! You mean I won’t be able to drive my rusty Subaru into a light pole and collect enough damages to buy a new BMW? There’re light poles everywhere in my way. It’s unfair, I tell you! I really need a BMW!
