Woman Pleads Guilty to Murdering Baby Over FarmVille Game

The Escapist reports that

22-year-old Alexandra V. Tobias entered a plea of guilty to to second-degree murder today in the shaking death of three-month-old Dylan Lee Edmonson. She told investigators that she became angry with the infant because he was crying while she was playing FarmVille on Facebook.

Unbelievably, Tobias took a break from shaking her baby to death to stop for a cigarette break.   Some surmise she probably sent a quick FarmVille request for strawberry seeds and cattle before continuing to murder her baby.

Well, Zynga may be evil, but it is hard to blame them for this atrocity.  The whole evil strategy behind Zynga is to have you click on a game every hour, and then walk away.  There is no “heat of the moment” in FarmVille.  It barely qualifies as a video game.

  1. Wow. Just Wow. That baby never had a chance. It sounds like the mom was smoking around the poor kid, too. Life sentence seems about right.

  2. I just don’t get how some people could even do such a thing… she could have at least given the baby a bottle or something and moved it to another room. Instead, she has thrown away 2 lives with 1 move…
