Zola Jesus — Sea Talk

“Sea Talk” is the latest video by Zola Jesus.    Ms. Roza Danilova seems to have a thing for campy (so bad, their good) sci-fi and horror movies.   So far, she has named two albums after “Stridulum,” and Italian sci-fi movie about the battle for a young telekinetic girl’s soul.  The cover art of Stridulum was inspired by the infamous “Sweet Movie.”

In her latest video, she sports blonde hair and plays the role of Carol Anne from Poltergeist.  The video supposedly was “inspired by the acts of sleepwalkers.”   Siouxsie’s not buying it, the video really looks like it could have ended with the words, “They’re heeeeeeere.”

The video and song, in any event, are both great.   This is the year that Zola Jesus is going to break out.
