Fever Ray Goodness

Siouxsie was lucky enough to see Fever Ray (a.k.a. Karin Dreijer Andersson, half of Swedish electric-pop duo The Knife) in Chicago last year.  NME describes her show as “mind melting.” Siouxsie agrees. Lots of fog, lasers and a crazy Shaman.

Well, Fever Ray’s incredible cover of Peter Gabriel’ Mercy Street is now on the internet.

Fever Ray is currently on tour in Europe.  If you have the chance, you should check them out.

  1. I knew The Knife was on a sort of hiatus, but I had no idea that Karin had done a solo-project. Thanks for the notice! 🙂

  2. I like this cover. I can’t really listen to peter Gabriel anymore.

  3. I truly loved pre-nervous breakdown/divorce/world music insanity/drumming circle Peter Gabriel. I mean, come on – “The Family and the Fishing Net” is practically goth. But point well taken about listening to him now and what he’s become and how it makes my heart break… and it’s nice to hear this remake bring back to his music some of the creepiness that has been sucked out of it (I assume by heavy anti-depressants, but that’s just a theory).
