Elie Saab Fall/Winter 2010 — Attack of the Black Dress

Fall is almost here, and Siouxsie is happy to remind everyone that many of the fall 2010 ready-to-wear collections focused on black.

The collection of Elie Saab is one.  Mr. Saab typically is well known for colorful, pretty dresses that he sends down the red carpet for the Oscars and other events.  But for this collection, he tried to do something really dark.  It is always fun to see what happens when a mainstream designer remembers how amazing black can be.

The mostly black collection is restrained but fierce.  It features dozens of elegant black dresses and suits.  Burgundy and teal also make brief cameos.  The collection is enormous, and at times gets a tad redundant.   But be sure to checkout the cocktail dresses; those are Siouxsie’s favorites.

You can watch the entire show below.

  1. Elie Saab looks like the Great Oz, when he waves to the crowd at the end. Not what I was expecting at all.
