Siouxsie Is Going Some Place Very Sunny, Wish Her Luck

Let's hope this stuff works.

Siouxsie likes sunshine, but doesn’t like to tan.  Recently, she shopped for the highest SPF she could find.  She found Neutrogena SPF 100+.   Ahhh.  Perfect.

So, Siouxsie immediately wrote to Neutrogena:

Dear Neutrogena,

I recently purchased your ultra-sheer dry-touch sunblock SPF 100+.

I run a goth and legal blog, and I love your product. My skin is just as pale as it was all winter. We have only just started spring so it is difficult to know if the great results will continue through summer. But I hope so.

Have you considered marketing this product toward the goth community, i.e. advertising, product giveaways, sponsorships?

I’m not soliciting, but I would like to write a review of this product and include this information.

[This is Neutrogen’a reply.  Looks like they are playing hard to get.  But mark Siouxsie’s words; this time next year you will see their ultra-high SPF sunscreen being marketed in Gothic Beauty Magazine]

  1. They should call it Gothscreen. After writing that, I realize that name doesn’t really work. How about SPF – Goth? Good post.

  2. Geez, not very forthcoming, are they? Will you write the review anyway? Or was this it?

  3. Sunscreen manufacturers spend so much time promoting their products to sports enthusiasts for obvious reasons. I have always wondered, however, why they did not spend some serious money on promoting their products to goths as well. I personally usually just use a parasol, but if I will be outside for for more than an hour you can bet that I’m slathering on the highest SPF I can find *along with* the use of a parasol as the two are not mutually exclusive.

    • Parasol’s are amazing. Do you know about this maker? I can’t justify the trip to Paris to pick one of these up, but they sure are beautiful. Maybe one day I can count it as a business expense.

  4. […] few months ago, Siouxsie posted about the perfect sunscreen:  Neutrogena Dry-Touch Ultra-Sheer Sunblock.    SPF 100+. […]
