Rihanna Continues to Dabble in Goth

Siouxsie cannot help but like Rihanna. This photograph was taken about a month ago. Take note of her dark-purple lipstick, black thigh-high boots, and vampy spider ring. Siouxsie hopes Rihanna continues down this path.

  1. It’s really amazing what a cultural force goth is (yes, I really mean this). Truly goth bands almost never made enough money to get to fund videos of this type, but the mark of that look shows up over and over…

    • Amy, you make a great point. Goth is alternately ridiculed then co-opted by mainstream culture. Your comment is well-taken. Indeed it reminded Siouxsie of one of her favorite songs, and the fact that their budget for their video was so small they had to film it during the day. Shudder.
