Black on Black Mani
I have seen this manicure a bunch of times so I decided to give it a go. For the matte, I used Knock Out Cosmetics’ Flatte Black. And I used Chanel’s Black Satin for the rest. I feel a little guilty about using Chanel, but in my defense, it was a gift (from me to me, cause I deserve it).

Love that matte black polish. Such a fresh idea — well done!

The matte is amazing. I keep meaning to get other colors.
Nice nails!
Thanks!
I did the reverse! http://wendybrandes.com/blog/2011/04/not-so-basic-black-nails/
The dragon ring again! I wish I could borrow it for Sophistique Noir’s ring challenge.
That is BEAUTIFUL! I tried the same mani but it didn’t turn out near as good as yours. Really really really LOVE IT.
very nice!
This is really cool! Going to try this some time. Thanks for sharing this with us:)
Oh my! It looks beautiful!
I love it!! I bought some matte topcoat (not sure of the brand – couldn’t find anything locally so I went for the first one I found on Amazon…). It starts out heavenly, but after less than 24 hours it somehow shined itself up. In two days, you couldn’t even tell it was matte to begin with.
Maybe I use too much lotion, here in the desert? lol. How long did yours retain its matte finish?
Good point about the matte finish. The matte finish wore off by the next day. Regardless of lotion, I think one’s natural oils will shine up the matte coat after the first day. I’ll have to try my other brands and see if any will keep their matte look longer than 24 hours.
My wife just saw this and fell in love with the look, she’s off to buy the necessary polishes.
dude i love that… a gift from me to me… haha… i used one of your photos in my last post and included a link to your blog
