Update — Bat Crisis
Back in December, Siouxsie posted about a killer fungus infecting brown bats in the Northeast. The crisis is getting worse. The fungus has now spread to the Midwest. On July 27, the U.S. Forest Service issued an emergency order to close caves as far west as Colorado. And scientists predict the fungus will wipe out all hibernating bats in the Northeast within 20 years.
