Coffin Tiramisu
Siouxsie is a big fan of La Carmina (Goth Girl/Yale Law Grad/ Author/Fashion Designer/TV Host/CNNGO Correspondent/etc.)
Last week, Siouxsie had the good fortune to meet La Carmina in person at her book signing for Cute Yummy Time. Yeah!!!
Ever since then, Siouxsie has been dying to make one of La Carmina’s recipes. Siouxsie finally had the chance and decided to make Coffin Tiramisu. Or, as Siouxsie calls it terrormisu.
Siouxsie admits that she was intimidated at first. She is not very domestic. Siouxsie has only enjoyed terrormisu in fine restaurants and assumed it would be difficult to make. It was not. It took Siouxsie only 15 minutes or so, to prepare the cake.
Siouxsie also worried that she would be unable to replicate La Carmina’s crucifix* design on the cake. But La Carmina’s stencil idea worked like a charm. (Please note, Siouxsie substituted construction paper for cardboard).
Everyone devoured the cake. Wednesday and Pugsley had a bite and they loved it too!
Although Siouxsie made this cake in honor of Halloween; Siouxsie thinks it would make a perfect desert for any gathering.
*In accordance with Justice Scalia’s recent comments during oral argument in Salazar v. Buono, the crucifix on the coffin terrormisu cake is not necessarily a religious symbol.

We were just talking about the NEA scandal in class yesterday and the whole idea of the definition of obscenity, etc… anyway, needless to say, your Justice Scalia addendum made me nearly spit hot tea all over my keyboard in a fit of hilarity… and I’m not even a lawyer!!
